1. Sports: F1, tennis, American football and more…

Miami has become in recent years one of the epicenters of sports activity in the United States, hosting world-class competitions. Here are some of the most important ones:

  • Formula 1: since 2022, Miami has been one of the venues of the world motorsport championship and every year it welcomes the best drivers. In 2024 the race was held in May, although depending on the calendar of the event this date may vary. Tickets for the 2025 race are on sale now.
  • Tennis Master 1,000 : the Capital of the Sun is one of the ten privileged cities in the world to host this event, which after the Grand Slams is the highest category on the ATP and WTA tennis circuit. In general, this tournament takes place every year in March, although it can vary according to the annual schedules defined by these organizations.
  • NFL: Hard Rock Stadium is the home of the Miami Dolphins, the city’s team that competes in one of the sports tournaments with the most followers in the United States. The regular season begins in September and ends in January, when the playoffs that define the champion begin.
  • MLB: loanDepot Park is the home of the Miami Marlins, the city’s baseball team, another very popular sport in this country. There, between April and October of each year, it hosts the most iconic rivals of the Big League, such as the New York Yankees or the Boston Red Sox, among others.
  • MLS: Lionel Messi’s arrival at Inter Miami in 2023 increased interest in soccer in the Capital of the Sun. Although the team has its stadium in Fort Lauderdale, having perhaps the best player in history just a few miles away is a very interesting attraction. The regular season of this championship takes place between March and October.

2. Events in Miami: music festivals

Miami is synonymous with partying and music. During the year, the city hosts some of the most important events of this type in the United States, such as the Ultra Music Festival, an electronic gathering that brings together fans of this genre from all over the world. In 2025 this event will be held from March 28 to 30, so you can now schedule yourself to enjoy this show.

There are other well-known festivals in the city for music lovers, such as the one on Calle Ocho, which takes place in March and is one of the most popular celebrations of the Latino communities in Miami.

3. Art Basel and other cultural and artistic activities

The Capital of the Sun is the scene of one of the most traditional contemporary art fairs in the United States and perhaps in the world: Art Basel, which brings together prominent galleries from all continents with relevant works. In 2024, this meeting will take place between December 6 and 8.

Another cultural event of importance in the city is the Art Deco Weekend, which is held on Ocean Drive and brings together thousands of people to learn about this popular art. It usually takes place in mid-January, which makes it a great excuse to start the year in Miami.

4. Film Festival, one of the events in Miami not to be missed

As it could not be otherwise, the seventh art also has its space among the events in Miami throughout the year. This is the Miami Film Festival, which between the end of February and the beginning of March attracts the eyes of world cinema, with a special focus on Latin and Ibero-American proposals.
