National Geographic’s recommendation comes in a year with a busy schedule of entertainment and fun for Miami, which in addition to hosting events such as Formula 1, the ATP and WTA tennis circuits, NBA and NFL tournaments, the presence of Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, Art Basel, among many others, which open up many opportunities not only for tourism in Miami, but also for real estate investors who can take advantage of these developments in the rental market.
Why does National Geographic suggest sightseeing in Miami?
According to National Geographic’s description of Miami, “after New York’s High Line converted an abandoned Manhattan railroad viaduct into a lush green space, Miami has embarked on a similar project: the Underline, where the land under the elevated Metrorail is being transformed into a 16km linear park. The second of its three phases is about to open, considerably expanding the small initial segment.”
The entity also highlights how the public art of the “Capital of the Sun” has been an important part of the project, “with new works that add to the dazzle of a city already known for the murals of Wynwood Walls, and for the recently expanded Graffiti Museum that accompanies it”, which is why it decided to include it in its “Cool List” of 30 destinations to visit in 2024 and recommends sightseeing in Miami this year.

National Geographic adds that “next door to Wynwood, the Allapattah neighborhood is on the verge of earning its own artistic reputation: Marquez Art Projects (MAP) has just opened a gallery there dedicated to emerging artists, with works chosen by prominent local collector John Marquez. However, the boldest twist in Miami’s creative transformation is on the coast of Miami Beach, where the Reefline will soon receive the first works of what will be an underwater sculpture gallery open to divers and scuba divers.”
The “Cool List” prepared by National Geographic is published every year and suggests some of the must-see destinations for travelers, who find in it arguments to make the decision of which of them to visit in 2024.
